The timing of the announcement of this new partnership comes when the PCA is reaching a landmark moment in the history of women’s cricket in England and Wales. With the women’s game set to turn professional, forty-one newly contracted female players will become members of the PCA. This cohort will take the number of contracted professional players to fifty-eight, by 2021. This is in addition to the seventeen England Women’s squad players who have held professional contracts since 2014.
